The atmosphere in this bar on the edge of La Butte Montmartre is unlike any other in Paris. This bar/restaurant is named La Fourmi, a tribute to La Fontaine’s famous poem. It’s a big jumble of smoke, loud music, down-at-heel characters, naive looking young tourists, snogging couples and pick-up merchants. Not to be missed. Beats the more sanitised bars closer to the Sacre Coeur hands down, but you have to be in the mood for it. Beer prices are among the cheapest in the area.
