If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Paris for an hour, we suggest taking a trip to Musée de la Vie romantique: the 1830 house of Dutch-French painter Ary Scheffer. Inside, you’ll be amazed by the permanent collection of Scheffer’s academic art, and after a wander through its charming walls, we suggest sitting in the front courtyard. Thanks to its surprising silence, outpour of greenery, open shutters and garden tables, this space feels like a little portal into another time – just make sure you have a book to hand to enjoy this moment of pure relaxation.
