Helping those less fortunate

Posted on December 23, 2019 by VINGT Editorial

At this special time of year, it’s important to remember those less fortunate than ourselves – and, here at VINGT Paris, we are proud to support the amazing organisation for the homeless, Les Restaurants du Coeur.

As well as providing access to hot and nutritious free meals, this not-for-profit also helps people to get back on their feet again – whether that’s through education and training, budget advice or support in a job search.

What is more, with an estimated 9.3 million people in France now living below the poverty line, their services have never been more needed.

“It has always been very important to us to give something back and this is a cause particularly close to our hearts,” says founder and CEO of VINGT Paris, Susie Hollands. “As such, we are very happy to support their incredible work.”

Founded by the comedian and actor Coluche in 1985, Les Restaurants du Coeur very quickly expanded beyond food aid to personal assistance and integration. “To get out of exclusion permanently, a meal is not enough,” they explain. “It is also necessary to solve all the difficulties, such as finding a job and having a roof.”

Today the organisation comprises more than 70,000 volunteers who help out in the organisation’s dedicated centres, at their branches and in the headquarters of the National Association. Naturally, donations are always gratefully received.

“Thanks to donations such as this one (from VINGT Paris), Les Restaurants du Coeur is able to continue helping people who need it the most,” said a spokesperson.
