Haut-Marais
Paris’ 3rd arrondissement is otherwise known as Le Haut Marais: one of the most densely packed, hip and bustling quarters in the city. The appeal of its stylish businesses – from cafés to galleries to independent boutiques – means that it does attract a fair few tourists, but if you’re into a more local scene, don’t fret. There are still plenty of hidden gems in this quarter, most of which have spread upwards from its original epicentre and continue to be frequented by Paris’ most artistic personalities.
Should you be on the lookout for a stylish bar, bookshop, photographic gallery or perhaps a trendy bunch of flowers, the 3rd is an essential point of call for a stylish day in the city.
